XI Conference and competition R&D of young scientists and specialists RSE NNC RK dedicated to the 20^th anniversary of Independency of the Republic of Kazakhstan held from 11 to 13 May 2011 in Kurchatov.

The total number of works submitted to the contest, - 40, among them – 11 from IAE, 5 – from IGR, 8 – from IRSE, 11 – from NTP, 6 – from RSE NNC RK.

8 works were submitted out of competition (Gumilyev Eurasian National University - 2; K.I.Satpaev Kazakh National Technical University - 1; D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan state technical university - 1; Shakarim Semipalatinsk State University - 4).

Evaluation of competitive work was performed on a 5-point scale, based on the following 6 criteria: relevance, practical value (for the problem, which is devoted to work), the level (scientific, engineering), the novelty of the results, the degree of completion of work, personal contribution of contestants, the style and the level of material.

The following results are obtained:

Top position, diploma and cash award of 70,000 tenge:

Tokhtogulova D.А. Ultimate strain energy density of neutron-irradiated reactor materials (INP NNC RK).

Second position, diploma and cash award of 45,000 tenge:

• Krasovitskiy P.М. Molecular resonant solid-state diffusion (INP NNC RK).
• Lyahova О.N. Tritium as an indicator of nuclear tests location (IRSE NNC RK).

Third position, diploma and cash award of 30,000 tenge:

• Zholdybaev Т.К. Elastic and inelastic scattering of a-particles at the nucleus 12С (INP NNC RK).
• Sadykov А.D. Effect of the induced eddy currents on magnetic fields in a vacuum chamber of KTM Tokamak (IAE NNC RK).
• Seynasinov N.А. Japanese earthquake, 11 March 2011, and its aftershocks on the records NNC RK stations (IGR NNC RK).
