A variety of festive events dedicated to 20th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan have been conducted in Kurchatov from 16 to 19 of December. Among them, the sporting competitions in such sports as volleyball, badminton, checkers, chess, basketball, mini football, were performed. The competitions were held to promote healthy lifestyle, to attract residents to systematic physical training and sports. Sports Contest once again showed how the residents hold an interest in sports and healthy lifestyle. Employees of the Institute of Atomic Energy take part in the tournaments; the best of them are decorated with diplomas and prizes.
